The aim of the document is to provide people who carry out asbestos surveys and duty holders of non-domestic properties, information regarding quality assurance, surveys, survey planning, carrying out asbestos surveys, information requirements and how to use the information.

Asbestos essentials provides guidance and task sheets to safely carry out non-licenced work on asbestos materials. The guidance is aimed for trade workers and managers who may come into contact with asbestos. Each task sheet includes an introduction, equipment required and a safe method of work.
